I have finally decided that this year will be the last Margam Park Charity Group Shoot, unless i can find sponsorship which i feel will be highly unlikely :(

So gutted! :(

I just heard to day that "The Point" which is a local church and had been converted into a local venue for bands will be closing due to voluntary liquidation.
Late last year they were threatened with closure by the local council due to residents complaining about the noise levels, they closed down for several weeks to update the soundproofing and now have no choice but to close due to debts.
So gutted! :(

I have not really done many shoots which is unusual for me, i just can't seem to get motivated these days,
Is it just me or is the scene quite at the moment?
Maybe things will pick up when the weather breaks ^__^

There are a few big events happening this year that I will be attending so looking forward to them :)

Haven't posted for a while, so i though i had better :)
Still struggling with models and MUA's cancelling or no shows, although still batteling on!
Whitby came and went, had such a great time doing shoots and socialising, many thanks to Dave Charsley for arranging the group shoot, and to all the models who turned up and battled the weather!
Looking forward to next year already booked my B&B.

I also did a shoot a while ago with Charis then later helped out with another studio shoot with Charis and photographer Julie Moore at her studio, which in return had studio time with Hanrutmoe something quite different from my normal style :)

Last weekend i did a shoot with Rogan Demise the poor guy froze his ass of lying on the floor i the woods after two MUA's (Charlotte-Rebecca & Ellie-May James) covered him with a mud effect called Fullers Earth.

I have also been to quite a few concerts recently Martyn Joseph, Frances Dunnery, Show of Hands this Thursday and IAMX this weekend in London, i was concidering doing a few shoot while in London but thought i would just chill anywho it's too bloody cold :)

London Trip

I went to London on the weekend 7th & 8th September the 7th we went to see a west end show called Avenue Q, really funny well worth a visit athough it 's with puppets it's quite rude lol, and of course i managed to fit in a shoot lol with a model the model had a metal mowhawk!! how cool is that :)

The 8th we went
to see Gary Numan @ the O2 in London Personally it was my ultimate gig with IAMX supporting, although a little disappointed that IAMX did not get great lighting. Gary again as usual was on top form.
The public transport for the O2 was crap due to the underground Tube Jubilee line being closed and we had to catch a tube to the nearest tube station then bus it, although on our return journey we caught the wrong bus and had to change to the right bus, then we missed our last tube so we had to catch three night buses through London, we finally arrived home at 3am. Was it all worth it, of course it's Nuuuuman!!!

If you have not heard of IAMX, check them out below :)

Take care & thanks for reading! xx

Nikon D300

I bought recently a Nikon D300 really pleased with it's performance, like any new toy it gets a while to get used to it and learn where all the buttons are, so after sleeping with it for a few days / nights we are slowly getting acquainted lol

So Tired

So tired after last weekend, Saturday i drove to Bath to do a shoot for the Devolution calendar compotiton with a new model i have not shot with before, then Sunday drove to Colwyn Bay (which took me five hours) for the haunted hotel rooms shoot above a pub, apparently they are going to be filming "most haunted " there soon! A very good location!  Spooooky!!
I'm still yet to start editing the photos :/
Then on the Bank Holiday Monday i started my return journey home (which took six hours), i decided to take the scenic route which took longer than expected, very frustrating to see such beautiful landscapes but no where to pull over to take a few photos due to the constant flow of traffic and lack of lay-bys, the whole weekend was a round trip of 635 miles!

Margam Charity Shoot

Posted on 2008.08.13 at 18:54

Slightly knackered from organizing this shoot, I think overall everybody who attended seemed to enjoy themselves.
I was quite disappointed with the turn out from the models, as only 21 turned up and they never stopped working all day, I'm sure they will get a great load of pic’s for their portfolio especially as they were slightly outnumbered by 41 photographers.
It was great to see davecharsley again, I hope you sorted out your flashgun. as well as Charizma who helped me out with the extra voice that i needed, Thank you :)
I did not take as many photos as i did last year, as there were quite a few more things to arrange this year, but eventually managed to use my new Nikon D300
I finally got to meet and work with Ziggy Ramone, here is one from the day

Margam Park visit

To day I visited Margam Park to confirm details about the charity shoot I'm organising.
I had taken the day off work and knowing the meeting was only going to last about half an hour, I thought it would be a waste of a trip not to do a shoot while i was there.
I had a great day shooting with Charis at Margam and then later at home in my home studio,
I feel that we had great results, lets hope the main event has such a lovely sunny day as we did to day :)
Now for a few days of editing..............
